AVERT Stinger is a new tool from McAfee that can detect and remove more than 50 specific viruses. The freeware utility isn't designed to be a substitute for full anti-virus protection (you'll still need that); rather, it's a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with systems that are known to already have virus(es). Stinger utilizes McAfee's next generation scan engine technology, which includes scan performance optimizations as well as support for process scanning and digitally signed DAT files.
