Pidgin (the IM client formerly known as Gaim) is a free open source, multi-protocol IM client maintained by a group of programmers who work on it in their spare time. The client interacts with a range of IM networks both large and small, including AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr.
