Death2Spam Software-Less Spam Reduction via Death2Spam E-Mail Filter Bonnie Raymond
I can't tell you how tired I am of receiving e-mail about Hot Babes on the Internet or products that enlarge parts of the human anatomy or messages that claim I requested information on how to start a home business or offers for credit cards. These types of messages are Spam and are a waste of my time. Spam is an insidious creeping evil that is taking over our e-mail and invading our privacy, not to mention our bandwidth. And unfortunately, blocking e-mail from these people doesn't work, as they just switch e-mail addresses and keep sending their trash.
Even worse, if there’s actually a valid link to unsubscribe from a mailing to which you never subscribed in the first place, clicking on the link only lets the spammers know they've found a live e-mail, which means you can expect even more to come your way.
Enough already! A new Spam filter called Death2Spam (D2S) is an easy and efficient way to regain control of your e-mail without sacrificing system performance. Use of the service requires no software downloads and doesn't interfere with your e-mail account or other software on your computer. This could be a huge bonus for someone with limited memory space or someone who doesn't want to fiddle with yet another piece of software on the system. (The typical e-mail filtering software installation requires anywhere from 10-25MB of hard disk space.)
Setup requires a simple change in your POP3 incoming mail server settings so that your e-mail will "visit" the Death2Spam mail server first before coming to your inbox, reducing the load that your firewall has to handle. Outgoing e-mail settings remain unchanged. The Death2 Spam service is fully automated, so your e-mail's messages are never read by anyone and all passwords remain secure. Your password is only used to retrieve your mail from your ISP's mail server, and should the D2S server go down, your mail will be sent directly to your own inbox, ensuring your mail doesn't get lost.
