Panda AntiVirus
Installation
Ben Durbin

Installation

The installation of Panda Antivirus Platinum was excellent. We had no problems and found nothing that should throw anyone, even newcomers, in a loop. It also has some nice features on installation such as the ability to scan your memory and/or your hard drive(s) during installation.

Test 1: Quickness

During installation I decided to put it to the test and scan one of my smaller drives to see how quickly it would scan through it. It scanned a total of 2000 files in about 90 seconds, so it passed that part of the test. The scanning of the memory also went super quick, but that is to be expected.

The only part of this test where Panda's quickness could be questionable is in the evaluation version. What happens here is that during startup, you have to hit enter twice to get through all of the programs information or your computer will just sit there trying to boot forever. This is really annoying, but it's a good idea to try to make you register the product and/or turn off scanning at startup.
