Windows 95 DUN Upgrade
The DUN 1.3 Upgrade
Forrest Stroud

The DUN 1.3 and 1.4 Upgrades

The latest upgrades of MS DUN, v1.3 and v1.4, deliver all of the new networking functionality and fixes found in Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition to Windows 95 users. One of the most important new features in the 1.3 upgrade is Winsock2 support (previously available only as a separate download), which results in improved performance and better stability.

The newer 1.4 upgrade adds essential features of its own, including 128-bit encryption using MS Point to Point Encryption, improved stability with PPTP connections, and a year 2000 fix for the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client.

Overall, the Microsoft DUN Upgrade is a must-have update for Windows 95 users who have been using earlier versions of the client as well as for anyone who is looking for a quick and efficient means of connecting to the 'net. Simply said, MS DUN delivers.

Pros: Handles every aspect of getting on and off the Net, feature-replete, easy to use

Cons: Lacks some of RAS+'s advanced features
