Photoshop 5 delivers important new additions to an already feature-rich client. New features include editable text (using type layers with character-level formatting), a history palette that allows for unlimited undos and redos, layer effects (like Macromedia Firework's LiveEffects, layer effects allow you to apply effects like embossing and drop shadows to layers and have the effects automatically change as the layer content does), alignable layers, and path and selection transformation.
Additional new features in Photoshop 5 include 3-D transformations (which allow you to map an image to a cube, sphere, or cylinder), enhanced hue/saturation control, improved color management (using ICC profiles), and a number of step-by-step wizards for helping you understand and fully utilize the more complex features in Photoshop.
