Netscape Chat offers an array of additional features, including the ability to concurrently reside in multiple groups and three different chat communication modes -- personal conversations (one-to-one), group conferences (many-to-many), or auditoriums (one-to-many). The only downside to Netscape Chat is that 2.0 release is expected to be the final release for Netscape Chat -- development and support of the client will likely cease to continue in the future.
Overall, while clients like mIRC and ViRC offer more features and are easier to use, neither can claim to integrate Web document sharing capabilities as well as Netscape Chat does. If you regularly use Netscape as your Web browser and are an avid IRC user, Netscape Chat makes for recommended downloading.
