My Yahoo! News Ticker adds several cool features to the My Yahoo! web service. First, News Ticker keeps in sync with My Yahoo! so that you can get all your favorite news on your desktop without even having to run your web browser. The app also puts a news ticker in either the Windows 9x/2000/XP taskbar window or in its own sizable window. The ticker scrolls through the day's news feeds, allowing you to get additional details on a headline by simply clicking on the listing. Your favorite browser will then be launched with the complete article displayed on the screen.
All versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer work with My Yahoo! News Ticker. News Ticker also works with your screen saver to deliver news to your desktop during periods of inactivity.
Pros: News feeds and articles at your fingertips, takes up a minimal amount of screen space
Cons: Dated interface and feature-set, no longer developed, could be more intuitive
