WinQVT
A Standout Telnet Client and More
Forrest Stroud

A Standout Telnet Client and More

The WinQVT and QVT/Net terminal client stands out from the rest of the suite's services. Also available as a standalone client, the QVT/Term app is capable of supporting up to 15 simultaneous virtual terminal sessions.

Additional strongpoints in the suites include a news service that allows for offline/online news-reading, as well as including kill-file and quick purge capabilities; a mail service that supports SMTP and POP3 send and receive mail with background polling capabilities; and gopher client that is smooth, efficient, and easy to use (even though it does lack the graphically appealing interface found in many standalone gophers).

There is also a built-in mail deamon for SMTP services. The Web browser, QVT/Net's newest addition, includes tables support and inline support for WAV and AVI file formats, but it does trail far behind the latest releases from Netscape and Microsoft.
