Perhaps its strongest feature, Yahoo! Messenger offers excellent integration with the Web, and specifically with the My Yahoo! Web site. Extensive configuration options are available for customizing the program to your heart's content. The tradeoff to so many options is that you first have to enter a great deal of information on the My Yahoo! site before getting the news and stock information you want through the Messenger client.
By filling out your preferences on My Yahoo! for items such as sports you like, specific teams you follow, stock quotes that you want to monitor, local and/or national news topics of interest, and so forth, you can have Yahoo! Messenger display only the information that matters most to you.
