Recently while installing Windows 95 fresh on a batch of new computers, I realized how powerless Windows actually is with no enhancements. I also realized that many people may not be aware of some of the ways to make Windows easier to live with. In the following article, I'll cover a few of the things that you can do to make Windows 95 a better, faster, and more enjoyable environment to work in.
The first thing that everybody should have on their machine is Microsoft Power Toys. Power Toys is a set of add-ons published by Microsoft to enhance Windows 95's usability. They are completely free of charge, but are unfortunately not supported by Microsoft. The most helpful item included in the set is TweakUI.
There are also several other places to look for making your system perform better. One of these places is your windowssendto directory. Here you can specify some simple shortcuts that you can quickly send any document to with a quick right click.
