For a lot of people, looks and feel mean a lot as to how they perceive a new product. With the advent of all of the new monitors that will allow you to accept millions of colors with sharp, crisp detail, everyone wants their graphics impressions to look neat and personalized. In the early days of Windows many utilities were available to enhance the looks of your desktop.
When Windows95 was launched, there was the Plus Pack, which gave you loads of new desktop themes and screensavers. This was a nice addition to Windows, but required substantial memory to perform properly. This was a problem for some, while to others it simply added a new look and feel. Stardock Systems has just launched what seems to be a great looking piece of software that will allow you to enhance your desktop with a slew of new skins (backgrounds, buttons, shapes, etc.), and that allow you to tailor the look and feel of your desktop to your hearts content.
