BBC Worldwide Top of the Pops
Introduction
Karl Moore

Famed for its quality television programmes and reporting excellence, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) are constantly branching out - with a whole range of CDs, audio cassettes and videos on the market. Now they're getting hi-tech - with the release of a Top of the Pops CD-ROM.

For the benefit of any non-Brits out there, Top of the Pops is a UK-based TV program that features the latest chart music - mainly live stars, singing their hearts out. It's pretty neat - but you probably gathered that already.

Well, their new CD-ROM lets fans literally turn their own PC into a recording studio using a simple drop-and-drag mixing interface. Combining jazzy visual effects with bopping music and cool lyrics, this CD is traditional of BBC quality.

Installation
As expected, installation was darn smooth. No hiccups there. Although the program runs straight from the CD, certain system files are setup on your machine - and the Beeb recommend around 50MB of free space to ensure successful completion.

First Impressions
Right then. CD-ROM in the machine. Music on full-blast. Let's rock!

After a pretty snazzy graphical introduction, you're presented with two areas in which to work; Hit Mix and Vision Mix.
