Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro 5.0
Introduction
John Brown

For years, WS_FTP Pro from Ipswitch, Inc. has been the premier FTP client, the one all others were measured against. WS_FTP Pro 5.0 maintains that high standard. WS_FTP Pro 5.0 is the fastest, most powerful Windows file transfer client available. With WS_FTP Pro, you can connect to any FTP server, browse through directories and files, and transfer files in both directions. In addition, users can create, change, and remove directories and view, execute, rename, and delete files.

A clean and simple Windows interface is what makes WS_FTP Pro so popular. The standard two window style is still present in version 5.0. When a connection is established between the local PC and a remote system, the WS_FTP Pro main window displays the directories and files for the PC in the Local System list box (on the left) and the directories and files for the remote system in the Remote System list box (on the right). The buttons to the right of each column provide the standard file and directory operations for that column. To upload or download a file, simply tag it in the appropriate list box and click on the arrow in between the two boxes. WS_FTP Pro does the rest. If that is not easy enough for you, simply drag a file from one list box to the other and WS_FTP Pro will transfer the file accordingly. Those of you that prefer the mouse will be happy to know that WS_FTP Pro also makes extensive use of the right mouse button. Clicking the right mouse button brings up a full set of file, directory, and FTP commands.
