Symantec WinFax For Windows NT 4.0
WinFax for NT
Chris Silva

WinFax NT, the upcoming of WinFax 95 for Windows NT 4.x is truly a suite we've been waiting for.

The install

Typical of all Windows NT installations, there is the familliar Install Wizard. This is so close to the Windows 95 version it is'nt even funny. The install was flawless (for a Beta) and the deletion of the temp files were right on. One hangup I have is that evertime I boot to NT, I get a screen that wants to connect to Symantec. In fact, it sems as if it wanted to go via the internet rather than a dialup.

The Program

The graphics are like those of WinFax95, and the navigating is much the same. It seems all they did was to port WinFax95 to NT (which there is nothing wrong with). But I would have fugured that there would have been more "whistles & bells".

After recieving a fax, you would dub on that fax, the visual OCR seems real nice. And the print is good (pending your printer of course). The setup is as easy as the WinFax95. And of course, you can choose between Logs (Sent, Received, Out) for your faxes.

Summary

This product is everything you expected out of WinFax95 and more. WinFax junkies, this is a must for your Windows NT programs.
