The CD/DVD installation offers InstaWrite, a packet-writing program for doing backups to these media readable from any CD, but in machines running Windows 95/98 only. Using a different installation prompts to test your backup device. NovaBack installations involve testing any QIC or SCSI device and doing a small tape backup test prior to doing live backup. At start NovaBackup displays a progress window with files to be backed up, files left, and size of backup to store on disk or tape. We had little problem backing up files on any media. Transfers took very little time, and were automatically formatted on the CD-RW disk. When any type of media is full, there is a prompt for the next cassette or disc. On completion the verify process will start if preselected, requiring reinsertion of the first backup media, of course. Our test backups worked great, verifications were good, and restore was a snap.
