Jasc Paint Shop Pro 6 Paint Shop Pro Version 6 is Packing Some Powerful New Tools! Douglas Smith
It’s getting close to Christmas, and we know what we want Santa to stuff in our stockings this year! Jasc Software, with locations in the U.S. and Canada, and Corporate office associations in Australia, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, The Netherlands and Taiwan, has really created a graphics arsenal in Paint Shop Pro 6.
Paint Shop Pro has all the tools necessary to paint, edit and retouch images, plus a browser to help manage graphics files. Import photos from scanners and digital cameras, create images for brochures and newsletters, and design really great looking Web graphics. Some of the really advanced features include editable text with character-level formatting, vector drawing tools, object manipulation, node editing and multiple-color gradients. There is the ability to do image deformations, artistic effects, inner and outer bevel options, sculpture and texture effects, and Digimarc watermarks. Plus, Paint Shop Pro offers JPEG and GIF optimizers, dynamic animations, adjustment layers and Animation Shop: a separate app used to easily create animated GIFs.
Some of the more notable graphics programs today require a degree in graphic engineering to use and a Pentium 400 with 120 meg of memory just to run with any consistency. Not with Paint Shop Pro; loading was swift and manipulation of files and photos was as quick. Running on a Pentium 166, it seemed quite at home when the program was accessed--even while multitasking other programs at the same time.
