The release of Internet Explorer 4.0 was a major upgrade for the Microsoft browser. With all the features and enhancements of IE 4.0, you might ask what could they possibly add to IE 5.0? After all, the interface looks almost identical to IE 4.0. Will IE 5.0 really be that significant of an upgrade? Believe it or not, the answer is a resounding YES!
While the devedopers at Microsoft have not made any major changes to the interface of IE 5.0, they have been very busy working on new improvements "under the hood." Microsoft is once again on the cutting edge of new technology with this next generation browser.
With each new release, Microsoft has managed to make their browser faster, and this holds true with IE 5.0 as well. One of the first things you will notice is that the pages seem to pop up much faster than before. Microsoft has been listening to users' and developers' feedback ever since IE 4.0 was released, and many of the wishes and concerns that have been voiced are addressed in IE 5.0.
