Microsoft Office 2000: First Impressions Conclusion Ben Durbin
Compared to the last installment of Office, this is a significant upgrade for anyone interested in being more productive and efficient. With the Office 2000 name, it symbolizes that this version of Office is definately 2000 compatible, something that users are looking for. But for users interested in more than Y2k compatibility, Office's tighter integration with the Web, collaboration, and overall integration with each program make this product a must buy!
It looks like Windows' best office product has gotten better but still lacks in some areas. But the only bad thing that we can really consider at this time (besides the fact it's still a beta), is that it is not a truly revolutionary product when it comes to new features--it merely enhances the features from the previous version. However, Microsoft has made it easier to use and has added more Web integration. In the end, look for this version of Office to be available sometime in May!
