Scopeware Vision Upgrade Manages Real-Time Web As Well As Personal Information RSS Reader Routes Online Feeds Eric Grevstad
Mon 10/27/03 -- The newest version of Scopeware Vision adds a Real Simple Syndication (RSS) reader to the search utility and document manager, pulling feeds from Web sites and weblogs into the cascading-file-cards Scopeware interface alongside your PC documents, databases, e-mails, and other information.
Scopeware Vision combines keyword searching with a chronological stream of results including thumbnail views and file summaries, one click away from launching a document in its native application. Version 2.1 comes with several ready-made RSS feeds from popular sites like CNN and Yahoo News, with an easy-to-use dialog box for adding real-time feeds based on your own interests. It also integrates with Microsoft Outlook calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes listings as well as e-mail messages, and offers a larger preview pane, faster thumbnail creation, and easier navigation.
Prices are unchanged at $30 for the Personal version and $80 for the Professional edition that includes searching capabilities for network drives.
