Acronis Offers Fast and Friendly Disk Partition Manager Manual or Automatic Control Eric Grevstad
Mon 12/30/02 -- Acronis Inc. says its PartitionExpert 2003 disk-partitioning utility runs up to 10 times faster than competitive products, resizing a partition in minutes instead of an hour or more. Nor does it offer such power only to experts -- its Windows XP-style interface includes both automated and manual modes.
The former uses a task-based wizard that walks even beginners through the process of safely creating, resizing, or copying disk partitions to back up data or organize storage for the operating system, applications, and different types of data files. After installation, users an create a bootable disk or CD that can perform partitioning tasks on any PC, with or without an OS installed.
While PartitionExpert 2003 does not include a boot manager for running multiple operating systems (as the company's OS Selector does), it supports all popular Windows and Linux file systems including Linux' ext3 and ReiserFS. A free bonus included with the $50 boxed edition, Acronis RecoveryExpert, lets users recover partitions that have been lost or deleted.
