PentaWare Moves Beyond Zip Archiving To Total File Management PentaSuite Can Burn CDs As Well as View and Manage Files Eric Grevstad
Mon 10/21/02 -- PentaWare Inc. has announced the January 2003 release of PentaZip 6, the latest version of its popular file compression and archiving utility. The $50 program ($30 during its first three months) will support 15 compression formats (including Zip64), scripting and scheduling, file splitting, self-extracting archives even larger than 4GB, and e-mail, file viewing, and searching-within-compressed-archives support.
If that’s not enough, PentaZip 6 will be part of a new PentaSuite file management system. The PentaSuite toolkit compression including conversion between Zip64 and ZGB formats, PGP encryption without additional software, and a file viewer/browser with image thumbnails and slide show.
PentaSuite is also an FTP client and CD burner, able to create both CD-R and CD-RW discs including multivolume archives. It’ll be priced at $100, or $50 during the first three months on the market.
