Corel Ships Ventura 10 Business/XML Publisher Blurring the Line Between Web, Mobile, and Print Content Eric Grevstad
Mon 10/7/02 -- Corel Corp. is now shipping Corel Ventura 10, a deluxe page-layout and publishing program for creating visually rich business documents -- or turning electronic content into business documents. A new XML Mapping Editor makes it easy to mix mobile or Web content with traditional text and images to format and publish XML content in print for professional documentation or other output.
Ventura 10 can also create Adobe Acrobat PDF files directly, with advanced PDF settings for output by professional printers, and use Table Tags to format multiple tables simultaneously. Enhanced graphics capabilities include more than 50 new bitmap effects and support for more import and export picture file formats, including the new CorelDraw 11, while new preflight warnings give valuable feedback on publications before final output. Users can save preflight styles for common workflows such as Print, Publish to PDF, and Publish to the Web.
Bundled with Corel Capture 10, DataBase Publisher, Barcode Wizard, and over 1,500 TrueType and Type 1 fonts, Corel Ventura 10 is priced at $699, with a $249 upgrade for registered Ventura 7 or 8 users.
